In April 2008, the initiative presented a proposal regarding the repeal of criminal law to the president of Parliament Fatma Ekenoglu. The Criminal laws in Cyprus north still have articles from British Colonial period where homosexual activities are defined as Crimes Against Nature and are penalised. Cyprus north is the last territory in European Council where homosexuality is a crime.
